Spread out in beautiful gardens over the side of the mountain, Yoshiminedera has a wonderful blend of hidden away sub-temples amid a manicured natural landscape set against the primeval forests of the western mountains. There is a breath-taking view out over Kyoto city, which is so near yet feels centuries away in this garden paradise. In the heart of the mountains, wild herbs are collected by the temple priests and used in a traditional healing herbal bath that is offered between May and October, which is known for curing neuralgia. The temple is famous for miracles of healing.
