About Sōjiji:
Sōjiji has been all but swallowed up by the expansion of the megapolis of Osaka city. However, once inside its vermillion gateway you will see mothers with their children sitting beside the pond and passing the time of day, as well as pilgrims singing their goeika hymns on the large verandah of the Hondō. The temple is a quiet neighborhood temple as well as being part of several regional pilgrimages, including one for the prevention of senile dementia. It is the only temple in the pilgrimage to have a pet cemetery.
