About Nariaiji:
Nariaiji is situated up the mountain looking out over one of the traditional Three Most Scenic Places of Japan – Amanohashidate, Bridge of Heaven. This long isthmus of pine trees and white sandy beaches has remained unchanged over the centuries despite the popularity of this famous tourist destination. The temple is appropriately dedicated to the aesthetic of beauty and the Kannon enshrined here is known as the Bijin Kannon – Beautiful Kannon. There are many walk paths through the forest further up the mountain and the area remains unspoiled, always with the beautiful view of the sea seen in glimpses through the trees.
